How do you get Anne Frank House tickets?
Buy tickets only from the Anne Frank House website. Every Tuesday at 10am CEST, the museum releases tickets for visits six weeks later. If a date is sold out, there is no official waiting list. Commercial walking tours do not include museum entry.
Use the official ticket page, calculate six weeks before your visit and be ready at the release time if the museum is a priority.
How the six-week release works
The release is weekly, not a random daily drop. On Tuesday at 10am Amsterdam time, all tickets become available for the corresponding week six weeks later. Convert the time correctly if booking from another country.
Choose a date and start time before beginning checkout, but keep a second option in mind. Popular weekends and holidays can move quickly.
Standard visit or introductory program
The standard ticket includes the museum, Annex, exhibition and audio tour. The museum says a visit takes about one hour, though you may stay longer once inside.
The optional 30-minute English introductory program explains Anne Frank’s history in the context of the Second World War and persecution of Jews. Choose it if that context would improve the visit, especially for visitors age 10 and older. It is not priority entry.
Changes, refunds and arrival
The museum says it does not reschedule tickets or give refunds. Check the date, start time and number of visitors before paying. Every visitor needs the correct ticket.
Arrive for the selected time and keep the confirmation accessible. Do not buy from a site with a similar-looking domain. The museum explicitly warns about fraudulent sites and invalid resale.
What to do if tickets are sold out
Recheck the official page in case availability changes, but do not build the trip around an unofficial promise. A guided neighborhood tour can provide history, yet it does not enter the house.
Keep the Jordaan day. Visit the Homomonument, walk the western canals and use the Anne Frank House’s extensive online resources. The neighborhood still makes a coherent day without pretending another attraction replaces the Annex.
Where it fits in the itinerary
Place the visit on a canal belt and Jordaan day. Avoid a lighthearted timed activity immediately afterward. Lunch, a canal walk or quiet museum works better.
