How do you get a table at L'Arpège in Paris?

How do you get a table at L'Arpège in Paris? I'd book lunch, Monday to Friday, on the restaurant's Zenchef booking page, for up to six people. The lunch menu is 260 euros and the dinner menu 380 euros, both service included, checked November 1, 2026. That is 120 euros a person for the same kitchen and the same vegetables.

L'Arpège is Alain Passard's three Michelin star restaurant on rue de Varenne in the 7th arrondissement, near the Rodin Museum. Most of the menu is vegetables from Passard's own gardens, and the menus change with what they produce.

The one rule that catches people out: the restaurant is open Monday to Friday, lunch and dinner, and closed on weekends. A Saturday dinner is not an option, so build the week around a weekday.

The menus are printed with a note that they change with the gardeners' harvest, so the dishes on the PDF are a guide to the season, not a promise. The prices are what to plan around.

Is lunch or dinner better at L'Arpège?

Lunch, unless the evening is the point. The two menus share most of their courses; dinner adds a few, including a course the chef improvises, for 120 euros more. For a first visit, lunch gets you the kitchen at its most direct and leaves the evening free.

Choose dinner for an occasion, or if your only free weekday is fully booked at lunch. The à la carte is the third way in: a dégustation portion of each dish is priced about 20 percent below the full plate, which suits two people who want to share the meal around a few vegetables rather than eat ten courses.

What should you do if L'Arpège is full?

Try another weekday before another restaurant. With ten services a week and no weekend ones, demand piles onto the days people are in Paris for short trips. A Monday lunch is the one I'd check first, because Monday is when many Paris restaurants are closed and visitors plan around other things.

If every weekday is gone, call the restaurant at +33 1 47 05 09 06 and ask to be told about cancellations. For a backup with a booking rule you can time, Septime opens each date three weeks ahead at 10am, and Plénitude takes requests far ahead.

Where does L'Arpège fit in a Paris trip?

Put it on a weekday when you are already on the Left Bank. Rue de Varenne is a few minutes from the Rodin Museum and about fifteen minutes on foot from the Musée d'Orsay, so a morning at either museum and lunch at 12:30 is an easy day. Both the Orsay and the Rodin are closed on Mondays, so I'd make this a Tuesday to Friday lunch; on a Monday, pair it with the Louvre across the river, which is open. Paris museums on Monday and Tuesday has which ones open.

For the other meals that week, where to eat near the Orsay covers the same neighborhood at a lower price.
