Should you book Aman Venice or Hotel Cipriani?

From June, I'd book Cipriani for a summer stay built around the pool or with children, and Aman Venice for a couple who wants the Grand Canal and the city outside the door.
The two are on opposite sides of the decision. Aman Venice is inside Palazzo Papadopoli on the Grand Canal in San Polo, in the middle of the city. Cipriani is on Giudecca, the island across the lagoon, a 5-minute crossing on the hotel's own boat, with a pool, gardens and a tennis court that the old city has no room for.

Who should book Aman Venice?

Who should book Hotel Cipriani?

The catch is that every evening in the city starts and ends with the crossing. If you plan late dinners in Cannaregio or Castello, that boat matters more than the pool.
