How do you get a reservation at Narisawa?
Book Narisawa on OMAKASE at 10am Japan time on the first business day of the month before your visit, when the whole next month opens at once. Narisawa's reservation page gives that rule and links to OMAKASE, the Japanese booking site, as the place to book. The Japanese version of the page puts it as 10am on the 1st of each month, and says any change to the opening day is announced on the site. Both were checked October 29, 2026.
For a meal in January 2027, that means 10am on Tuesday, December 1, 2026, in Tokyo. For February, the first business day of January, after the New Year holiday.
This is a monthly release, so every Friday and Saturday in the month appears at the same minute and goes first. Narisawa is Yoshihiro Narisawa's tasting menu restaurant in Minami-Aoyama, open for lunch and dinner.
What time is the release in the United States?
10am in Tokyo is 5pm Pacific and 8pm Eastern on the previous day from November to early March, and 6pm Pacific and 9pm Eastern in summer. Japan does not change its clocks; daylight time in the United States ends on November 1, 2026.
So the January 2027 release is at 5pm Pacific, 8pm Eastern, on Monday, November 30, 2026. I'd be signed in to OMAKASE ten minutes early with a card saved, and pick three dates in order before the page opens, so you are not deciding while the weekends go.
What are Narisawa's booking rules?
Two people or more, booked by the person who is coming, and no one under 18. Each rule is on the restaurant's reservation page:
- Party size. Reservations are only for two or more. A solo traveler cannot book a table here.
- Booked by you. Narisawa takes reservations only from the guest, not on someone else's behalf. A friend, an assistant or a hotel concierge cannot book it for you.
- Age. The English page says the restaurant cannot seat children under 18.
- Hours. Lunch from 12:00, last order by 12:30, closing at 14:30. Dinner from 17:30, last order by 18:00, closing at 20:00.
- Closed. Sundays and Mondays, with other closures on the restaurant's calendar.
- No smoking anywhere, including the entrance, and no e-cigarettes.
Narisawa's own site does not list the price, so read the course total on OMAKASE before you pay.
What does it cost to cancel at Narisawa?
Cancel through OMAKASE at least six days ahead and there is no charge; from five days out it costs 50% of the menu, and from two days out the full price. The same charges apply if your party gets smaller, per Narisawa's cancellation policy. The cancellation has to go through the booking site you used, not a call to the restaurant.
That six-day line is the one to watch. A flight change a week out is free to fix; a cold the day before costs the whole meal. Travel insurance that covers prepaid meals is worth checking before you book.
Is lunch or dinner easier to book?
Lunch on a weekday is the most realistic seat; Saturday dinner is the hardest. Narisawa serves both, from Tuesday to Saturday, and the same release opens them together. Lunch suits a traveler: you finish by 14:30 with the afternoon free, and you are not sitting down to a long menu after a day of walking.
If dinner is the point, I'd go for a Tuesday or Wednesday first, and leave Friday and Saturday as the long shots.
What if Narisawa is full for your dates?
Check OMAKASE again in the days just before the six-day line, then book another long tasting menu as the backup.
- Cancellations. People with doubts give their seats back before the free line six days out. Look again seven and six days before each of your dates.
- A different week. Every date in the month opens at the same minute, so a weekday early or late in the month is as open as any.
- Florilège. A French tasting menu at Azabudai Hills, about ten minutes away by taxi, that opens one day at a time, one month ahead, at midnight Japan time. The Florilège booking guide has the rule.
- A sushi counter. For a night that has to happen on a fixed date, a counter with an English booking page is the dependable choice. The Tokyo omakase booking guide lists release dates and fees.
Because Narisawa only takes bookings from the guest, a concierge cannot get you in when the calendar is full. Your own refresh is the only route.
Where does Narisawa fit in a Tokyo trip?
Book the release before you book anything else in Tokyo that is flexible: the restaurant date should set the trip, not the other way round. Then keep it off your first night, since the full charge starts two days out.
The Japan booking order lines this release up with flights and hotels, the Tokyo food guide plans the other meals, and the where to stay in Tokyo guide picks a base. Minami-Aoyama is a short ride from Shibuya and Roppongi, so either works for a lunch here.
