"answer": "Aman Tokyo or Park Hyatt Tokyo? For most trips I'd book Aman Tokyo: every room is a suite of at least 71 square meters, the hotel is connected to Otemachi's five-line subway station and you can walk to Tokyo Station and its bullet trains. Book the Park Hyatt instead when your days are in west Tokyo, Shinjuku, Shibuya and Harajuku, when you want a bar with a view at night, or when you are a family who needs a suite with a connecting bedroom.",

Book the Park Hyatt instead when your days are in west Tokyo, Shinjuku, Shibuya and Harajuku, when you want a bar with a view at night, or when you are a family who needs a suite with a connecting bedroom.\nThe two hotels sit at opposite ends of the city, and that decides more than the rooms do. The Aman is on the top six floors of the Otemachi Tower, beside the Imperial Palace gardens in the business district. The Park Hyatt fills floors 39 to 52 of the Shinjuku Park Tower, reopened on December 9, 2025 after a 19-month restoration. Pick the side of Tokyo you will spend your days on first, then the hotel."

"text": "A couple on a first trip, a business trip, or anyone taking the bullet train on to Kyoto. Tokyo Station is a walk, which matters on the morning you leave with bags. With 84 suites against the Park Hyatt's 171 rooms it is the smaller hotel, and its rules keep it adult: the guest directory sets the spa and gym at 16 and over, keeps under-20s out of the bar area after 6pm and opens the Musashi sushi counter to guests 13 and over.\nThe room to book is a west-facing Deluxe Suite, over the palace gardens with Fuji on clear days. The Aman room guide compares every suite."

"text": "Anyone whose Tokyo is the west side, anyone who wants the hotel bar to be part of the evening, and families who need two bedrooms. The New York Grill & Bar on the 52nd floor was restored to its original black and chrome in the renovation,, and Hyatt's release names a sake cocktail served there inspired by the film Lost in Translation. The release also lists suites that connect to a second room, including the Diplomat, Tokyo and Presidential suites.\nThe room to book is a Deluxe Room with a king bed on the Fuji side, 55 square meters. The Park Hyatt room guide covers which suites earn the upgrade."

"text": "The Park Hyatt, unless your children are teenagers. At the Aman, children 15 and under can swim only with an adult, infants in diapers cannot use the pool, and the spa and gym start at 16, per its guest directory. Hyatt's release names suites with connecting rooms. Ask the Park Hyatt for its pool and spa age rules when you book, since the release does not give them."
