Walk the historic center on day one, spend day two at Pompeii, then use the archaeological museum to understand what came out of the buried cities before crossing the Spanish Quarter to the bay.\nIf the MANN is closed on your third day, reverse days two and three. Do not use Naples only as a place to sleep before the coast. If you have seven days, compare the longer Naples and Sorrento route."

"text": "• Check Tuesday before fixing the order. The National Archaeological Museum closes Tuesdays. Pompeii is exposed, so weather is the second reason to swap days two and three.\n• Choose one famous pizzeria. Use pastries, fried food and a simple trattoria for the other meals. Waiting in three pizza lines is not a food itinerary.\n• Choose Pompeii Express or Pompei Plus. Express covers the main city. Plus adds suburban villas and can turn a focused four-hour visit into a much larger day."

Continue through Via dei Tribunali and San Gregorio Armeno rather than zigzagging back across the center.\nLunch: Starita is the classic neighborhood institution and fits better if you are moving toward the museum side of town. 50 Kalò has a broader menu but sits near Mergellina, so save it for the bay day. Scaturchio fits this route for sfogliatella and espresso.\nSpend late afternoon around the Duomo or the quieter lanes north of Spaccanapoli. Book L’Antiquario for a serious cocktail in a small room, or keep the evening in the historic center for an unfussy trattoria."

Buy only through the links on the official Pompeii ticket page. Tickets are named and the site now limits daily admissions.\nTicket | Choose it for | Time\nPompeii Express | The main archaeological city | About four focused hours\nPompei Plus | The main city plus suburban villas | A long day with more walking\nFor a first visit, Express is usually enough. Follow the Forum, baths, several domestic spaces and the amphitheater instead of chasing every open building. The official site publishes seasonal hours, current open houses and a map. The Pompeii guide gives the detailed route and lunch choices."

"text": "Spend the morning at the National Archaeological Museum. It currently opens from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., closes Tuesday and costs €20. Start with the Farnese sculptures, then prioritize the Pompeii and Herculaneum material. Check the gallery-opening plan before arrival: staffing and restoration can close sections, and the Alexander Mosaic is currently under restoration.\nWalk toward Pignasecca and the Spanish Quarter. Tandem is for a bowl of slow-cooked ragù. Pescheria Azzurra is the faster seafood choice and fits the market route. Continue through Galleria Umberto I to the water.\nChoose the final two hours by energy. Walk Santa Lucia and Chiaia for a level finish. Take the funicular to Vomero for a broad bay view. Go to 50 Kalò if the pizza lunch you skipped on day one still matters."

"text": "Choose the historic center for atmosphere, or Chiaia for calmer evenings. Hotel Piazza Bellini is best for stepping straight into old Naples and returning to a courtyard when the streets feel intense. Grand Hotel Parker’s suits someone who wants a quieter hillside address, a terrace breakfast and bay views. Atelier Inès has the most personal, residential feel and puts the archaeological museum close, but it is less convenient for waterfront evenings.\nNear Centrale is useful for an early Pompeii train, but it should not outweigh where you want to spend both nights. The Naples hotel guide compares the neighborhoods and the catch with each hotel."

Leave the rest loose enough for a pastry counter, a church you did not plan to enter and a second coffee."
