"text": "Give the first morning to the cathedral complex and the second to the Uffizi. Spend one afternoon across the river in the Oltrarno and the other around Santa Croce. Florence is compact enough for this route to feel full without becoming a race.\nThis is two full days and three nights, with arrival before day one. If you arrive at lunchtime, use that afternoon for the Oltrarno and begin the plan the next morning. Do not count a train journey, hotel check-in and two reserved museums as one usable day."

"text": "At the cathedral, choose the dome climb or the Opera del Duomo Museum. The climb is 463 steps with no lift and gives you a close view of the dome's structure. The museum holds the original Baptistery doors and major sculpture from the complex. You can do both, but it changes the morning from one focused visit into most of the day.\nChoose the Uffizi over the Accademia for this first two-day plan. The Uffizi gives you the broader course in Florentine and Italian painting. If seeing Michelangelo's David is the reason for the trip, replace the cathedral museum with the Accademia. The Uffizi or Accademia guide explains the collections and current ticket rules.\nThe Uffizi normally closes Monday. The Accademia also normally closes Monday. Put your museum morning on another day instead of trying to solve the closure with a rushed late-afternoon slot."

"text": "Morning\nStart in Piazza del Duomo before the square gets busy. Use the cathedral authority's planning page to choose a pass by monument rather than by price. The dome requires a timed entry. The museum is the better first stop if you care about Ghiberti's Baptistery doors, Michelangelo's Pietà and how the cathedral was made.\nIf you climb the dome, look at the brickwork as the stairs curve between the inner and outer shells. The city view is the reward, but the unusual part is moving through Brunelleschi's structure.\nLunch\nCross Ponte Vecchio and book Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina, Piazza Pitti 16. Go for a wine-led lunch with Tuscan cheese, salumi and a tasting menu if you want the meal to carry the afternoon. Lunch runs from noon to 3pm on the current schedule.\nAfternoon\nUse Piazza Santo Spirito as the anchor, then browse Via dello Sprone and the smaller streets toward San Frediano. This is not the afternoon for the Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens unless you skipped part of the cathedral complex. Both deserve more than the time left here."

"text": "Ditta Artigianale, Via dello Sprone 5R, is the coffee stop on this side of the river. Ask what is on filter if espresso is not what you want. The branch matters because another Ditta sits near tomorrow's Uffizi route.\nFor handmade paper and marbled objects, look at the workshops around the Oltrarno rather than buying leather from the first market stall in the center. Keep the browsing loose. Florence rewards looking into small storefronts more than following a long shopping checklist.\nIf Pitti Gola was lunch, eat dinner closer to your hotel. If you kept lunch short, use Pitti Gola for dinner instead. One long wine meal in two days is a pleasure. Scheduling the same style of meal twice leaves less room for the city."

"text": "Morning\nHave coffee at Ditta Artigianale, Via dei Neri 32R, then enter the Uffizi early. The official gallery page lists current hours and sends visitors to its ticket office.\nGive the collection three hours. Start with the early rooms so Botticelli, Leonardo and Michelangelo belong to a story rather than a set of famous images. In Botticelli's Birth of Venus, follow the wind across the painting toward the cloak. The museum's own entry explains why the title is slightly misleading: the scene shows Venus arriving on shore.\nLunch\nWalk east to Cibrèo Trattoria near Sant'Ambrogio. Order pappa al pomodoro, chicken-liver crostini or the chicken-and-ricotta meatballs rather than defaulting to steak. The current lunch service ends at 2:30pm, so this pairing works best with an early Uffizi ticket."

"text": "Continue to Scuola del Cuoio for leather bags, wallets and small accessories made in the Santa Croce complex. Weekday artisan hours give you a better chance to see work in progress. A shop visit is easy to add; a workshop is a separate booking.\nSpend the rest of the afternoon around Santa Croce, or return to the hotel before dinner. If you skipped the cathedral museum for the dome climb, this is the moment to decide whether another interior actually improves the day.\nFor David, replace this entire afternoon with the Accademia. Do not keep Santa Croce, leather shopping and a timed museum, then call all three relaxed."

"text": "AdAstra suits a couple who wants an individually decorated room, roll-top bath and terrace overlooking a private garden. It is in the Oltrarno, so the first afternoon is close to home and both museum mornings begin with a river crossing.\nHotel Calimala is the more central choice for a short stay. Its Via Calimala address sits between the cathedral, Piazza della Signoria and the river, and the rooftop gives you somewhere to have a drink without adding another journey. Compare room categories carefully because outlook and terrace access vary.\nLeave Siena, a winery day and the Boboli Gardens for a longer trip. The three-day Florence itinerary adds a food morning or the Accademia. The Siena guide is for a fourth day, while the Florence hotel guide compares exact room, breakfast, bathroom, pool and gym details."
